Winnipeg Emperors Hockey

The Winnipeg Emperors Hockey Club is an Asian based ice hockey team from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Emperors began in the spring of 2010 as an idea from a group of players who played Friday nights at the Winnipeg Chinese Alliance Church League as they heard about the Asian Hockey Championships which is played annually in Toronto, ON.  A call was put out to Winnipeg players of Asian ethnicity and the team played their first scrimmage in June of 2010 and continually forward.

The team is looking to represent Winnipeg, Manitoba in the 2011 Asian Hockey Championships which takes places May long weekend 2011 at the Canlan Icesports York facility and has been playing exhibition games against local Winnipeg teams during the 2010-2011 season.

The mandate of the Winnipeg Emperors Hockey Club is to open doors and to further grow the sport of ice hockey to Asian players.  If you are interested in coming out for a skate or about learning more of the game, feel free to contact us.

Special thanks goes out to the Woo family, Nobby, Larry and Robbie for your support during the initial stages of our planning and building.
